Gender, Diversity & Inclusion session - QMATH 16, September 2 2025
This event was part of the program of the 16th Mathematical Results in Quantum Theory (QMATH) conference taking place in Munich, 1–5 September 2025. It was co-organized by AWMP and the QMATH organizing committee.
The event consisted of a presentation by Tomas Brage, a mathematical physicist from Lund University who has been actively involved in developing equality, diversity and inclusivity in academia at the European level, on the topic “Why is gender and diversity important in mathematics and physics?” It was open to all QMATH16 participants.
Portraits of Women Mathematical Physicists: a night of discussions and networking – 21st ICMP, July 2 2024
This event was part of the program of the 21st International Congress of Mathematical Physics (ICMP) taking place in Strasbourg, 1–6 July 2024. It was co-organized by AWMP and the ICMP organizing committee, and was sponsored by Jane Street.
The event aimed to create a space for discussion and networking among women in mathematical physics, but was open to anyone attending the 21st ICMP interested in discussing inclusivity in academia more broadly.
Detailed program: a panel discussion with senior female scientists, the presentation of the photo exhibit “Women in Mathematics from around the world, a gallery of portraits” by Sylvie Paycha, a catered networking hour.
